While K&K are soaking up some warm rays on a sunny beach & surely sipping rum drinks in the Caribbean (well deserved may I add)…I just have to say what a beautiful wedding I not only photographed but attended this past weekend. Our connection is a sweet one that spans two decades now. I was more than honored to be part of this day. Two sweathearts and a fabulous group of family & friends made for an intimate and most memorable wedding. I will be busy this month editing this one as well as several others~…here are a few quickies , mostly just bride & groom ones I picked off the bat…so many to go thru ~.

I see beauty everywhere but it is the tiny little insect buzzing along that provides me with the utmost pleasure~ I am in awe of it’s micro body and huge strength…fluttering about all day just trying to stay alive with all the obstacles and masses of “others” out to get him. It’s a race to live. I am reminded of my easy , somewhat boring but wonderful life. I am happy to have crossed this guys path today. Grateful for a sunny day.

I am readying myself for Kerri & Krestons BIG day on Saturday…tomorrow! Getting very excited for them~ what a sweet couple they are.

an evening post~ Happy Graduation T!

I love these last minute friends..:) they are just like me…”hmm, let’s see if I can squeeze a photoshoot into my already hectic schedule”, says the mom…Like I always say, it is never too late or too difficult to have photos done~ they are important. They are proof that you were here, that you were 18 and young and free~. Here are a few I shot of Taylor downtown…I am posting more B&W for no other reason than I liked them and ended up putting them on my desktop to post, without realizing it….the absence of color but the essence of the boy~ simple, sweet and clean~ I do love a simple nice photo….and black & white says it all sometimes. :) I think I will post more B&W in the future…

Happy Birthday to my girl ~ 20 !

I thought about my girl all day yesterday….she is spending her 20th birthday in the big city today…NYC that is ~ first time not at home with a homemade, lopsided cake and her brothers ….I am missing her today but know she is having a ball with her oldest BF…two Okie girls in the city…fun! I still miss the little girl. Crazy I know. Sometimes when she is talking to me I actually see her pigtails swishing as she uses her hands to talk in her animated funny way. She got that from me I believe in her. She is smart & funny, genuine, loving, a family girl for sure. Her best quality or the one that stands out the most to me is that she has this natural ability to nurture. She adores her brothers. She is an incredible big sister and takes her role seriously. I remember when her brother Johnny was born, she looked at me and pursed her lips and a tilted head…and said, “awww, he is adorable… I just love him”…that is the way she is…same thing with her baby brother Luke…she just took on a mothering role from day one. She is a quiet soul. She feels things deeply and thinks them through. She is a light, a bright ray, she enters a room and you feel it. She is also very messy and leaves a trail…little wrappers, a piece of clothing…my makeup drawer open and my hairdryer missing…little things I miss when she goes again. At this age they come & go~…

Anyway, that pain in my tummy 20 years ago was well worth it, I would give anything to get that day back just to relive the most wonderful day of my life. The day she was born I truly began to live. Being a mother is all I really ever wanted to be. LOL . Thank you to my girl Emma~ I am blessed to be her mom. ..(teary)…the time really does go by so quickly…one, two, three…5…10…..14…..graduating high school…off to College…and so on. Taking it all in is what I want to do~ I just don’t want to miss a moment. !

I was sitting in the car wash when…

….I realized I had not been that relaxed for about two straight days. I closed my eyes and let myself breathe as the jets pulsated over my filthy car…i felt my body go limp as if it were being cleansed as well. I am busy. To say the the least yesterday after that car wash I took my dog for a walk and noticed the magnolias in bloom, actually catching their scent in the breeze before seeing the magnificent bloom unfolding on a neighbors tree~ I have been waiting for them to “pop”….ahhhhh. Life is good. Glad I hit the car wash.

(for those interested….one area of stress in my life has been the fact that I am in “painting the house mode”….at the busiest time of year for me, I decide that this is the time for my pinterest inspired room to happen…which has turned into the entire home being painted…by ME …(and Mark too… but mostly me)…last night we ripped the rest of the carpet out & the old TV is going in the garage sale. I am ready to get rid of things and make life fresh again! I like the grey & feel like the project is finally underway! If you are interested in seeing the end result..leave a comment & ideas!!! I love ideas! to paint floor or stain? hmmm….

Twisted Soul Sisters~ {Ribbon cutting & Grand Opening in BIxby, Ok.}

If you love anything old and vintage, or are into cowgirls & boutique clothes… then this is your shop~ it kind of reminds me of being at a cool flea market… oh ,and you must love jewelry that sparkles, that inspires, that says, “you must have me”…because this place is full of what I call “eye candy”…you have to take your time and go thru the different containers full of beads and one of a kind pendants…then you get to design your own necklace with the help of Kelly & Marti. It’s a girly place for sure but they have a flat screen TV in the back area of the store with refreshments if you want to bring your husband along… I stopped in for the grand opening of their new shop~ here are a few pics to give you an idea. :)

I really enjoyed this shoot!~ William was up for anything with his sweet smile and twinkling blue eyes…while his mom insisted on carrying my bag, we walked and laughed capturing “W” along the way. Relaxed and easygoing~ Here are a few of my favorites of him. ~ if you want to see his sister from awhile back click here!

I am not sure where I get inspiration from some days, I am just lucky that I love music and the poems I hear in the lyrics~I wonder how “they” come up with these words…and why didn’t I come up with that? I love Neil Young (even after all these years)….my son has brought him back to me with his spiked interest in all things “old”…I was listening to The Painter yesterday as I was editing William (his post coming, I swear!) …and I got sidetracked. I am always getting sidetracked and have a hard time staying on task for long periods. I should be in my art class this morning as I type this silly post about nothing really….but instead I am here with my tea and yes my english muffin topped with Laura’s homemade grape jelly. I feel guilty but I am happy not to paint today…I wasn’t sure what to paint. I am going to put on pandora and listen for more inspiration~ cause it’s the music that truly fills my soul that fills my heart that will bring the inspiration for this day~:) I can paint tomorrow too… if the spirit moves me.

a few days ago I was taking pictures of a very nice boy…William (his post next week)…we were downtown and came across this on the ground at a spot I like to shoot…

I wish I had my aperture set higher so the little paper wasn’t out of focus. It read, ” have you heard the good news”?…hmmm, it is more than thought provoking. I am actually at a loss for words when I look at this picture. It speaks for itself in a way I guess.
